Although it is somewhat invasive (they still don't have to crack your chest) The
mini-maze procedure is a cardiac surgery intended to cure atrial fibrillation.
This Mini-maze operation is, to date, the Gold Standard in the hope for a complete
cure for Atrial fibrillation without the full blown - go on heart lung bypass - open heart surgery.
I have had to date two catheter ablations to fix my Afib. If this last one
fails - this is the procedure I wantto try next. The mini-maze can have
cure rates (no Afib) of almost 100%. I see it as a next step in my battle with "The Beast" - Atrial
Fibrillation.
